OIL PALM STEM DENSIFICATION USING AMMONIA TREATMENT: A PRELIMINARY STUDY
Keywords:
Oil palm stem, ammonia treatment, densificationAbstract
Oil palm stem material of different moisture contents was treated with aqueous ammonia solutions and subsequently compressed. The density increase in relation to initial moisture content and initial density, as well as the impact of treatment and compression on swelling/shrinkage are discussed.
