Abstract

Locally manufactured cement-bonded particleboard (CBP) coated with two common types of finishing materials, penetration and film-forming, were tested for their water repellency, finishing properties and exterior performance. Results show that the film-forming type finishes were effective in retarding moisture absorption into CBP and provided better protection against weathering compared to the penetration finishes.
