Abstract

Analysis of boron in solution and treated wood samples using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer and Inductively Coupled Plasma are found to be the most rapid, simple and accurate methods. These methods are useful when low concentrations of boron are to be detected. Colorimetric method gives good results, but is not suitable when a large number of samples are involved. Titration method is lengthy and time consuming and is not suitable for boron determination at low concentration.
