Abstract

Various sulphate pulps were prepared from 9-year-old Acacia hybrid, a cross breed of Acacia mangium and Acacia auriculiformis and compared with those of A. mangium and A. auriculiformis. The trees were taken from the SAFODA plantations in Sabah. The Acada hybrid gave very good pulp yields in excess of 55% and the properties of the pulps were generally superior to those of A. mangium and A. auriculiformis.
