Abstract

Four trials of Acacia auriculiformis provenances in China, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand at 18 months were analysed for survival and growth. Twenty-five provenances from three geogrphic regions, viz. Papua New Guinea, Northern Territory and Queensland, Australia were tested. Significant differences were found among the provenances at each site, as well as between sites and the interaction between provenances and sites. The best sites were those in Indonesia and Thailand and the poorest was the one in Taiwan, China. Stability analysis of the provenance x site interaction indicated that two provenances (Noogoo Swamp, Northern Territory and South Coen River, Queensland) were most stable across sites. The Noogoo Swamp provenance was also one of the top performers.
